Weapons, Ammunition, and Attire

according to the BDS Western Shooting Sports Handbook.

Only lead bullets are permitted; no partial or full metal jacket bullets. Minimum of 60 rounds rifle, minimum of 60 rounds pistol, minimum of 30 rounds shotgun.

Each participant is responsible for their own shots and equipment/weapons.

Recently, there have been problems at various events due to extremely thick (copper)-coated bullets. If possible, avoid using such bullets, or if you absolutely must, use only bullets with the thinnest possible copper coating.

The state championship takes place over three days, with the same six stages each day.

Participation on one day is sufficient to qualify for the state championship.

Participants may also participate on the other one or two days, but in a different scoring category each time. For participation on multiple days, a separate registration is required for each day. All participations count towards the final score.

All participants with a BDS Western Star badge and a valid membership sticker, as well as foreign guests with a SuRT badge or membership in a CAS association, are eligible to participate.

Entry fee: €60 per day, payable in advance by bank transfer only; no cash payments on site are accepted. Young Guns pay half price!

Cash payments on site are no longer accepted.

As is standard practice, the entry fee is non-refundable; therefore, no refunds will be issued for non-participation due to the shooter's own reasons.
... However, should the event have to be cancelled at short notice, all participants will be informed via their email address and the BBS will then refund the participation fees!

Safety

Wearing hearing protection and safety glasses on the stage is mandatory for everyone present (including spectators).

All participants are required to perform helper duties. "If you can shoot, you can help!" :-)
All participants in the competition are subject to a strict alcohol ban.

Prizes

Scoring is based on total time. Every participant receives a certificate, and prizes are awarded to the top three in each class.

Camping

Ample parking (free of charge, no electricity) for caravans and motorhomes is available on the shooting range in front of the SSG building. We will gladly provide information on other overnight accommodation options upon request.

Young Guns

The competition office can arrange free use of the revolvers provided by the state association. (Please clarify this with Jürgen Ott in advance.)

On Sunday, immediately after the competition, results will be tallied using CAS scoring and the awards ceremony will take place.

The results lists will be published and will include the name and alias of the participants.
